The main function of a servo motor is to precisely control the position, speed, and torque of mechanical components, converting voltage signals into angular displacement or angular velocity output on the shaft. As an actuator, it can quickly respond to input signals in an automatic control system, achieving high-precision motion control.
Core Control Modes
Position Control: Positioning is achieved through pulse signals with very high precision, allowing for accurate displacement control.
Speed Control: The rated speed usually reaches 2000–3000 RPM, with a wide speed regulation range and smooth operation at low speeds.
Torque Control: The output torque can be controlled to adapt to load fluctuations, with strong overload capability.
Working Principle and Features
The servo system uses closed-loop negative feedback control, comparing real-time feedback from an encoder with the target value to automatically eliminate errors. Its features include a small electromechanical time constant, high linearity, and short dynamic response time (generally within tens of milliseconds). AC servo motors, due to their brushless design, require low maintenance and have a fast dynamic response, making them the mainstream choice in modern industry.
Main Application Areas
They are widely used in scenarios with high requirements for precision and efficiency, such as industrial robot joint drives, CNC machine tool feed systems, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. In addition, they play a key driving role in lithium battery production equipment, packaging machinery, medical equipment, and automated production lines.
